Lanyards
Lanyards with print are ordered for trade fairs, events and workplaces, and are used to carry an ID card, keys or a phone. Ready-made printable lanyards are mostly 20 mm wide, and the minimum order quantity is 50 pcs. The product page shows the unit price excluding VAT, which includes a one-colour print in one position. A woven or printed lanyard is also available in your own colour to order from 50 or 100 pcs. Plain lanyards sold without print can be ordered from a single piece, and many of them have a safety breakaway.

Lanyard width
The wider the lanyard, the larger the logo or text that fits on it. The widths in the range are:
- 5–10 mm: round and narrow lanyards. Most plain lanyards sold without print are 10 mm wide.
- 15–20 mm: the most common widths for printed and woven lanyards.
- 25 mm: the widest printable lanyards.
The width of a made-to-order basic lanyard can be 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 mm.
The lanyards are mostly polyester. The range also includes cotton lanyards and lanyards made from recycled polyester (rPET). Plain lanyards sold without print are most often 90 cm long.
Attachments and safety breakaway
The attachment depends on what is carried on the lanyard. A card holder is attached with a safety pin, a carabiner or a clip, and a key lanyard ends in a key ring. There is also a short 30 cm key strap, which is made to order. For a phone there are lanyards with a phone holder, and for events a lanyard with a mug holder. Some of the printable lanyards come with a rigid card holder fitted. With a detachable buckle, the lower part of the lanyard can be released without taking the lanyard off the neck. The holders are in the Card holders group, and lanyards with a ready-fitted yo-yo are in the Card yo-yos group.
The safety breakaway is a joint at the back of the neck that opens when the lanyard is pulled hard. It adds safety in work where the lanyard can get caught, for example in care work and in schools. Most plain lanyards sold without print have a safety breakaway, and it can be chosen for a made-to-order lanyard.
Printed, woven or plain
The minimum order quantity for ready-made printable lanyards is 50 pcs. The product page states the print method included in the price, for example sublimation or digital transfer print. On ready-made sublimation lanyards, the image is usually printed on a white lanyard. You receive a proof to approve before production. The lead time for printed products is usually about 2 weeks from proof approval.
A lanyard in your own colour is made to order. The pattern of a woven lanyard is created by weaving, and it can have up to 12 colours. On a single-sided woven lanyard the pattern is visible on one side only, on a double-sided one on both. The colour of a screen-printed basic lanyard is chosen from the Pantone colour chart, and the logo is printed on one or both sides of the lanyard. In sublimation, the base colour and the logo are printed in one go over the whole lanyard. The minimum order quantity is 50 pcs for a woven lanyard and 100 pcs for the others, and the price is given in the quote. State the width, colour, breakaways and quantity in the quote request. Frequently asked questions
Which lanyards have a safety breakaway?
Most of the plain lanyards sold without print have a safety breakaway, as do many ready-made lanyards for printing. This is stated in the product name or description. For made-to-order lanyards, you can choose the safety breakaway in the quote request.
What width of lanyard should I choose?
Choose the width according to the logo and the use. The most common width for printable lanyards is 20 mm, and the made-to-order basic lanyard is available in widths of 10–25 mm. Plain lanyards for ID cards and keys are most often 10 mm wide.
What colours are lanyards available in?
For ready-made lanyards, you choose one of the standard colours of the model and state the colour in the quote request.
