Power banks

A power bank with your logo gives a phone extra charge on the commute, at trade fairs and on holiday. The portable chargers range from 2,200 mAh pocket models to 20,000 mAh models, and the most common sizes are 4,000, 5,000 and 10,000 mAh. Most have a USB-C connector, and the range includes magnetic, wireless-charging and solar models. All power banks are ordered from 50 pcs, and the price on the product page includes a one-colour print in one position.

Capacity by use

Choose the capacity according to where and for how long the power bank will be used:

  • 2,200–2,600 mAh: the smallest models, for example a power bank that doubles as a keyring and the card-sized SLIMPO.
  • 4,000–5,000 mAh: a pocket-sized model that gives a phone extra charge during the day. Most models are in this size range, including magnetic and wireless-charging ones.
  • 8,000–10,000 mAh: for commuting and trips of a few days.
  • 16,000–20,000 mAh: for longer trips and charging several devices. For example, the VOIMA model has two USB-C and two USB-A outputs and a power display.

Milliamp hours and watt hours

A power bank's capacity is usually given in milliamp hours (mAh), but the limits for air travel are given in watt hours (Wh). You get watt hours by calculating mAh × voltage / 1,000. The voltage is usually 3.6–3.85 V, and at 3.7 V the sizes in the range correspond to these watt hours:

  • 2,200 mAh: about 8 Wh
  • 5,000 mAh: about 19 Wh
  • 10,000 mAh: about 37 Wh
  • 20,000 mAh: about 74 Wh

If the product is marked with watt hours, use that figure. According to Traficom's guidance, no more than two power banks, each with a capacity of no more than 100 Wh, may be taken on a flight, and they must be carried in hand luggage. Even the largest power bank in the range stays below this limit.

Charging power and additional features

Charging power is given in watts. Many power banks have a USB-C connector and USB Power Delivery (PD) fast charging, usually 18 or 20 W, and 65 W in the most powerful model. Wireless-charging models usually charge a phone at 10 or 15 W.

A magnetic power bank attaches to a phone that has a magnetic mount, and some models come with a metal ring for other phones. A solar model also charges in sunlight. Some models have LED lights or a display that shows the battery level. Wireless chargers without a battery are in the Chargers and cables category.

Material and logo

The casing is usually aluminium or ABS plastic, and in many models the material is recycled, for example 100% recycled aluminium (rAL). There are several models with a bamboo casing, and the shade of bamboo varies slightly as it is a natural material. The logo is usually laser engraved on an aluminium or bamboo casing and pad printed or UV printed on a plastic casing. The marking method included in the price is stated in the product description, and the methods are presented on the Printing methods page.

Frequently asked questions

How large a power bank can I take on a plane?

According to the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, each power bank may have a capacity of no more than 100 Wh, and no more than two power banks may be carried in hand luggage on a flight. The largest power bank in the range, 20,000 mAh, is about 74–77 Wh. Also check the airline's own rules.

How many times does a power bank charge a phone?

Compare the power bank's capacity with the phone's battery. Some of the energy is lost in charging, so, for example, a 10,000 mAh power bank charges a 4,000 mAh phone battery fewer than two and a half times. The size of the phone's battery can be found in the phone's technical specifications.

Does a magnetic power bank work with all phones?

A magnetic power bank attaches to a phone that has a magnetic mount or a magnetic case, and some models come with a metal ring for other phones. Wireless charging works with phones that support Qi charging. A magnetic model is not necessarily Qi2-certified, so tell us in your quote request if you need a Qi2 model.
