Made-to-order products with your own design

A made-to-order product is manufactured from scratch to your own design. It is not taken from a ready-made range and printed with a logo: you choose the shape, size, colours and material yourself. Examples are pins, medals and coins, lanyards, wristbands, temporary tattoos, flags and graphics for exhibition stands.

We order made-to-order products directly from the factories that make them. The price is calculated for the specific design and quantity, so it is given in the quote. This page explains what a made-to-order product is, which products are made to order, what a quote request needs and how the lead time is calculated.

What is a made-to-order product

The products on this site are of two kinds. A stock item is a ready-made product, such as a pen or a cotton bag, that is printed with a logo. Its price and quantity discounts are shown on the product page. A made-to-order product is made only once ordered, and the design is the customer's own: the shape of a medal, the colours of a pin, the woven pattern of a lanyard or the size of a flag.

You can recognise a made-to-order product on the product page by two things. Next to the price it says "Price by quote", because the price depends on the design and quantity. Next to availability it may say "Made to order". A made-to-order product has a minimum quantity, which is usually 50, 100 or 500 pieces depending on the product. It is shown on the product page.

Direct from the factory

We have established contacts with factories that make metal products, lanyards, wristbands, temporary tattoos, flags and exhibition stands. We order made-to-order products directly from them, not from an importer's or wholesaler's ready-made range.

This shows in two ways. The design is not tied to a ready-made range: for a pin you can choose the metal colour, enamel colours and fastening, for a medal the shape, finish and ribbon pattern, and for a lanyard the width, clasp and print method. The price is calculated for the specific design, quantity and extras chosen for the order, and it is given in the quote.

We handle communication with the factory, the proof, production follow-up and transport to Finland. You receive the invoice from a Finnish company, and VAT is added to it.

What is made to order

These products are made to your own design. The minimum quantity is shown on the product page.

• Pins: soft or hard enamel, die-struck or cast 3D design, offset-printed image and spinning pin. Minimum quantity 100 pcs.
• Medals and coins: medals for running events, clubs and children, challenge coins and commemorative coins. Minimum quantity 50 pcs.
• Lanyards: basic lanyard in your own colour with screen print, sublimation-printed lanyard, woven lanyard and short key lanyard. Minimum quantity 50 or 100 pcs.
• Badges and wristbands: badge with your own image, 25–100 mm, and silicone wristband with your own text. Minimum quantity 100 pcs.
• Rubber patches and keyrings: patch or keyring cast from soft PVC rubber in your own shape. Minimum quantity 100 pcs.
• Fabric patches: embroidered or woven patch made from your own logo. Minimum quantity 300 or 500 pcs.
• Temporary tattoos with your own image or logo. Minimum quantity 500 pcs.
• Cloakroom tags: white PP plastic, 85 x 54 mm, one- to four-colour print on one side and numbering if needed. Minimum quantity 500 pcs.
• Flags and pennants: beach flags, flags for flagpoles, hand flags, bunting and table pennants.
• Roll-ups and banners, as well as display stands and signs: the image is printed to your own size, and the stand is included.
• Other made-to-order products: metal nameplate with logo, can cooler, fabric frisbee, and fridge magnet and notepads.

Made-to-order products are in their own groups among the other products. Most of them are in the group Exhibitions and events and in the groups Pins and Lanyards. If you need a product that is not on the site, tell us in the quote request: we will ask the factories whether it can be made.

Temporary tattoos

A temporary tattoo is a giveaway for events, festivals, fan merchandise and children's events. It is printed from your own image, logo or text in up to 9 colours, and the design can have gold or silver foil. The minimum quantity is 500 pcs, and production starts once the proof has been approved.

What a quote request needs

A quote for a made-to-order product can be calculated once the factory knows what is to be made. In the quote request, tell us:

• a logo, image or sketch, or a written description of the design
• the size: the diameter of a medal, the width of a pin, the width of a lanyard or the dimensions of a flag
• the quantity and, if possible, an alternative larger quantity
• the colours: Pantone codes, if known
• the extras: medal ribbon, pin fastening, lanyard clasp, flag base or packaging
• the delivery date you want or the date of the event

For print, we recommend sending a vector file (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG). If you do not have one, send what you have and we will check whether it is sufficient. The design does not need to be drawn in advance: a sketch or description is enough, and a proof of the design is drawn up for you to see before production.

Proof, production and lead time

Before production you receive a proof to approve. The proof of a made-to-order product shows the whole design: shape, colours, texts and extras. Also check the spelling of the texts on it, as the customer is responsible for the correctness of the artwork. Production starts once the proof has been approved.

The lead time for made-to-order products is usually about 4 weeks from proof approval. The exact lead time is given in the quote. Also allow time for the quote and for checking the proof, and state the delivery date you want in the quote request. The steps of ordering are on the page How to order.

What the price of a made-to-order product is based on

The price of a made-to-order product is affected by the size, quantity, material and metal finish, the number of colours, how the design is made (2D or 3D, enamel or print) and extras such as ribbon, fastening and packaging. A larger batch usually has a lower unit price. If the same products are needed for several events, it is worth ordering them at once.
