Frequently asked questions

What kind of medal can be designed?

The medal is cast in metal to your own design, so the shape can be round, angular or the shape of your logo. The pattern can be two- or three-dimensional, and the colours are applied in enamel, to which glitter can be added. The metal finish can be chosen from, for example, gold, silver, bronze or antique, and the reverse can carry a different pattern or text. The usual size is 50–80 mm.

What kind of ribbon comes with the medal?

The medal ribbon is made with your own sublimation print, and you choose its width and colours. The ribbon can be printed with, for example, the name and colours of the event or club.

How big is a challenge coin?

The usual size of a challenge or commemorative coin is 40–50 mm, but the size and shape can be chosen freely. A different image can be made on each side. An EU regulation prohibits medals and tokens that bear the word euro or the euro sign or that resemble a euro coin. For this reason, no markings resembling the euro are made on the coin.

What is a challenge coin?

A challenge coin is a small coin or medal bearing the emblem of a community, carried by its members. Traditionally it has been used to show membership of the community, and it has been given in recognition of a special achievement. Today, companies and associations also order challenge coins as a thank-you, a keepsake or a sign of membership.
